Results Enquiry is the screen in Quality Management › Panel Samples for looking at test results across many samples at once. Where Update Sample Results works on one process order and activity at a time, this screen answers questions such as "what did every sample of this material score on these three tests last week", with one row per sample and a column for each test you choose.

Filters

Leave a filter empty to ignore it. Text filters must match exactly; the lookup buttons avoid typing mistakes.

Filter Notes
Process Order Lookup of orders; the list is narrowed to the Material if one is already entered.
Material Lookup.
User Data 1 to 4 The four site-defined sample fields, typically container code, packing line, shift and product group. Packing line and shift have lookups.
Sample Date from / to Tick the box to apply each end of the range; the calendar button picks a date.
Inspection Lookup of Inspections.
Limit Caps the number of rows returned, 1000 by default. Untick it for a full result set.
Tests A list on the right of every test defined in the Dictionary. Click a test to tick it; each ticked test becomes a column in the grid.

When at least one test is ticked, only samples that have a result for one of those tests are shown. With none ticked, every sample in range is listed without result columns.

The grid

Sample ID, Sample Date, Material, Process Order, the four User Data fields, then one column per ticked test, headed with the test's description. A result that comes from a selection list is shown as the list description rather than the stored code.

Buttons

Button What it does
Search Runs the query with the current filters.
Edit Opens Edit Sample for the highlighted sample.
Excel Runs the query again and saves the rows to a spreadsheet, qm_results.xls by default. The Limit applies to the export too.
Close Closes the screen.

Things to know

  • The grid is empty until you press Search.
  • An apostrophe in a text filter stops the query; the grid simply does not refresh. Use the lookups instead.
  • Nothing can be changed or deleted from this screen; corrections are made in Edit Sample and Update Sample Results.
